Buy to Let Mortgages

Buy to let mortgages and properties have become increasingly popular as investments in the UK over recent years.

With average yields often in excess of 10%, buy to let mortgages can reward investors with fairly high returns, for what is considered a lower risk bet than the stock market. What's more, the upward trend of property prices over recent years has meant that many buy to let mortgage investors have had the extra bonus of a much higher value property should they wish to sell up.

There is very little difference between buy to let mortgages and any other type of home loan or mortgage. You will still have the same choice of rates, the same choice of repayment vehicle, varying product features and a wide choice of lenders willing to advance you money. The main difference is that you will have to put down a greater portion of the value of the property as a deposit, which can be as high as 25%.

Properties that are already tenanted usually require an assured shorthold tenancy agreement (of the type which Ashwood Property Management utilise) but this is not always essential. Mortgages can be arranged often on the most difficult properties and in the most unusual circumstances.
